Texture Pack Summary
If you're looking for the best Minecraft texture pack for Bedrock Edition, Kingdoms by Odd Block might be the one for you. In this review, I take another look at this fantasy, medieval, and steampunk-style texture pack... and it’s still my favorite!
The Kingdoms texture pack has a 32x resolution, which means it’s more detailed than the default Minecraft look. One of the coolest parts? The mobs look completely different. Cows look like big bison, spiders are creepier, and Endermen have a whole new spooky design. Even the villagers change depending on the biome, you’ll see deer people in warm places and orc-like villagers in cold ones!
If you want a texture pack that makes Minecraft feel like a whole new fantasy world, Kingdoms by Odd Block is a great choice. It’s full of detail, perfect for adventure maps, and fun to explore.
PROS:
- Highly detailed textures - Looks like something you'd expect from a paid version of Minecraft – extremely polished and immersive.
- Unique fantasy-medieval-steampunk style - Blends fantasy, medieval, and steampunk themes beautifully for a distinctive visual experience.
- Reworked mobs and villagers - Villagers look like RPG NPCs, and mobs have fresh designs that fit the theme perfectly.
- Great building materials - Blocks like bricks, planks, and stone are redesigned for creative, lore-rich construction.
- Immersive atmosphere for exploration - Updated biomes, gear, and armor enhance the sense of adventure and world-building.
CONS:
- Not ideal for modern/sci-fi builds - Themed heavily toward medieval and fantasy – may not suit all building styles.
- Could clash with vanilla UI or other packs - Strong visual identity might not blend well with default interfaces or other texture packs.
- Possibly resource-intensive - The 32x detail may affect performance on lower-end or mobile devices.
- No mention of animated textures - Lacks dynamic visuals like animated blocks or items, which some users might expect.
- Might overwhelm vanilla purists - Players who prefer default Minecraft’s look may find the overhaul too drastic.
