Texture Pack Summary
I tried the Shaders HD (now Light HD) Minecraft texture pack by Square Dreams, which costs 1,510 Minecoins. That’s quite a lot, so I was really hoping it would look amazing. The pack promises super realistic graphics, like detailed water, moving trees, and lifelike skies. When I started playing, the first thing I noticed was the thick fog in the distance. It looked cool and helped hide chunks loading in, but it wasn’t real ray tracing, just a clever trick.
The best part was the water. It had rich colours and looked more natural than in regular Minecraft. The sky had a nice hazy vibe that made everything feel more peaceful. I really struggle to say much else positive about this pack and quite easy to see why the Texture Pack has changed its name from Shaders HD to Light HD. Between the price and what we get, I cant bring myself to recommend this Minecraft Bedrock Texture Pack
Pros
- Beautiful Water Textures – The water looks deep, rich, and natural, much better than in regular Minecraft.
- Nice Sky and Atmosphere – The sky has a hazy, peaceful quality that adds to the overall mood and immersion.
- Good Use of Fog – The thick fog helps mask chunk loading and adds a cinematic feel to the world.
- Improved Lighting – The lighting feels more dynamic (relatively), giving the game a slightly more realistic look, which is really the bare minimum expected.
- Feels Calm and Soothing – The combination of effects creates a somewhat chilled-out, relaxing gameplay experience, if you try really hard to see it.
Cons
- Expensive Price – At 1,510 Minecoins (at the time of recording, 1340 as of posting isnt much better), it's one of the pricier texture packs available.
- No Real Ray Tracing – Despite the look, it uses visual tricks instead of true ray tracing.
- Limited Realism – While it looks "realer", it doesn’t fully transform Minecraft into a realistic game.
- Can Look Washed Out – In some places, the colours might feel too soft or faded.
- Performance Not Mentioned – No clear info on how it affects frame rate or performance on different devices.
