Texture Pack Summary
I check out the official Sonic Textures texture pack by GameMode One for Minecraft Bedrock. As soon as I loaded the pack I could feel the Sonic theme everywhere. The sky shows Dr Robotnik’s machine and the bright green grass looks just like the first Sonic level. Even the menus have cool blue colours. But the best part is that all the Minecraft mobs look totally different. Chickens, cows, pigs and even villagers are changed to match the Sonic world. Some are cute, some are robots and all of them are fun to look at.
The fun does not stop there. When I visited the Nether and The End I saw even more amazing changes. The Nether looks steampunk with purple lava and robot creatures. The Ender Dragon is now a full robot with Dr Robotnik riding/driving. I even found a Warden that looks like a giant bunny from the Sonic world. The textures colours and designs are all amazing. If you love Sonic or want your Minecraft game to look fresh and exciting I think this is one of the best Minecraft texture packs you can buy. Totally worth it.
Pros
- Strong Sonic Theme Everywhere -The texture pack fully transforms the Minecraft world with Sonic-style visuals, including grass, skies, and mobs.
- High-Quality Mob Redesigns - All mobs (like chickens, pigs, villagers) are completely redesigned to match the Sonic universe, adding personality and fun.
- Epic Nether and End Transformations - The Nether has a steampunk robot vibe and The End features a robot Ender Dragon and unique visuals that enhance immersion.
- Great for Sonic Fans - If you're a fan of Sonic, this pack is packed with references and characters you'll love seeing in your Minecraft world.
- Unique and Fresh Look - It gives Minecraft a totally new and exciting appearance without changing the gameplay mechanics.
Cons
- Cost - It costs 990 Minecoins (about £4.99), which might be a downside for players looking for free texture packs.
- Not a Full Game - It's a texture pack, not a full Sonic adventure world, so there’s no added Sonic gameplay or missions. (Daz Man Note: Can you tell I struggled for Cons?)
- May Not Appeal to Non-Sonic Fans - If you’re not into Sonic, the theme might feel too specific or over-the-top.
- Complexity for New Players - Newer players might find the big changes to mobs confusing if they don't recognize which mob is which.
- No Custom Sounds or Music - The audio experience doesn't change, which could have added even more immersion.
