Texture Pack Summary

I just reviewed the Crimsoft Texture Pack by RareLoot, for Minecraft Bedrock, and it surprised me. This pack uses an 8x8 art style, which means it’s very pixelated, but still manages to be vibrant and fun. Everything has a toy-like feel. Mobs like villagers and creepers have massive heads, which makes them look like Vinyl Pop figures running around. I thought the big-head designs added a lot of charm, even though the pack stays close to vanilla in many ways. It’s also very consistent, from the trial chambers to the Nether and End. The colours really pop, and there’s a custom UI that adds a nice touch.

That said, the Crimsoft Texture Pack does miss a few chances to do more. Weapons and armour feel like colour swaps of each other, and some blocks and items look too blurry or basic. A few mobs, especially in the ocean and Nether, could have used more creative redesigns. Still, I gave it a 7 out of 10 because even though minimalist packs aren’t usually my favourite, this one had just enough character to keep me interested. If you like simple styles with fun little twists, Crimsoft might be worth a try.

Pros

  • Big-Head Mob Designs: Mobs like villagers, zombies, and creepers have oversized heads that add charm and character.
  • Vibrant Colours and Smooth Textures: Despite being an 8x8 pack, colours are bright, and textures feel consistent and easy to look at.
  • Fun, Toy-Like Style: The big-head proportions and soft pixel style make everything feel playful, almost like a toy box world.
  • Strong Custom UI Elements: The custom GUI and splash screens are minimal but charming, enhancing the overall presentation.
  • Consistent Style Across Blocks and Biomes: From trial chambers to the Nether, the visuals stay cohesive, which helps immersion.

Cons

  • Limited Creative Variation: Many textures (especially weapons, armour, and blocks) feel copy-pasted in some areas or lacks creative touches.
  • Minimal World Detail: The simplified style can make some areas feel empty or uninspired, especially trees and natural blocks.
  • Weak Mob Variation: Hostile mobs and underwater creatures often resemble vanilla too closely, missing a chance to stand out.
  • Poor Visibility and Centering Issues: Some items in frames appear off-centre or too small, affecting presentation.
  • Missed Opportunities with Armour and Gear: The reused armour templates and short weapons reduce the visual appeal of equipment.
